People were camping on the land where Red Squirrel Campsite is now, since last century.Hugh MacColl found a horseshoe embedded in a tree he cut in 1970. It looked like one used by Gypsies.Since 1914 there is a written record of prices collected for camping.The name Red Squirrel was founded in 1984 when the Glen was inhabited by Red Squirrel, which now can be hardly seen.
